Snow is falling in the mountains. Ski season is not far away. Soon the back roads my family loves to explore will be impassable. Before the Forest Service closes the gate, we raced up to Trillium Lake today. Unfortunately, the clouds were not impressed with our arrival, and I was unable to capture the reflection of a freshly blanketed Mount Hood in the lake that I so desperately wanted.
As usual, we ended up on a random forest road that ran along a ridge line. The views were fantastic, and we felt as if we were driving through a winter wonderland.
