I spend A LOT of time along the Salmon River. It’s a beautiful area, and even on a holiday weekend, you can often find yourself virtually alone on the trail. Since I have relocated to the “mountain”, it also happens to be my new backyard.
Hiking in late fall/early winter certainly has it’s benefits. Besides fewer people, trees have dropped their leaves allowing hidden treasures to appear, and heavy rains cause waterfalls to flow where once there was a dry hillside.
This is one of those waterfalls that just seemed to erupt out of the forest. I am not sure if it has a name. The internet research I have done hasn’t turned up any results. It’s located at the end of Salmon River Road, near the Salmon Butte Trailhead. If you happen to know the name, please leave it in the comments below!!

Beautiful Shot, thank you for sharing!
